That is one of the most disturbing things I’ve read in quite some time. Other than the horror of the genital mutilation itself, I find it absolutely stunning that research shows that those women requesting the surgery uniformly want flat, prepubescent-looking vulvas.

What was previously valid, corrective surgery has migrated to totally inappropriate cosmetic surgery. It is astonishing that such mutilations are funded by the NHS.

To finish on a positive note, I prefer this from the website’s ‘Top Tips to Love Your Vagina’:

“Close your eyes and visualise your genitals as the most beautiful flower in the garden, imagine that your lips are the petals of this flower and, when you open your eyes, gently touch your labia lips with your fingertips as you would touch the petals of the flower.”

Exactly!

It has always made me so sad to see beautiful women think of themselves as otherwise because of some unique feature (anything from nose to genitalia) which actually makes them MORE beautiful. *sigh*

As for your blog, I think if it were more widely read there might be a rise in demand for labial “enhancement.”
